Summer Softball with the “Smash”
The Montana Smash, a Western Montana softball team that is registered with the American Softball Association, is hoping to finish filling the teams roster with players from Chronicle Country.
They already have members from Hamilton, Corvallis, Darby, Missoula , Libby and Stevensville, according to team spokesman Jerry Kriskovich, who added that registration is open to girls who are 15 or 16 yrs of age – possibly 17, he said, if they turned 17 after January 1, 2010. The Coaches have more that 20 years experience, and they will be attending 6 tournaments in the state, Kriskovich said, with the tournaments scheduled to begin in June and end wth the state tournament in mid July.
There may be regional tournaments as well, he told the Chronicle, adding that the games they have scheduled will not start until after high school softball season ends, and there will be no conflicts for team members who are on a local high school team.
Anyone who is interested in more information is asked to call Jerry Kriskovich: weekdays 9-4 at 406-821-2151 or after 4 pm 406-214-6901.
