Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup cake auction Oct. 29

The third annual cake tasting and live auction to benefit the Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup will be held on Thursday, October 29 at the Historic Nine Mile Ranger Station, 20325 Remount Road, in Huson.

The cake tasting will commence at 6:30 and the live auction led by J.R. Strand at 7:15 PM. There will be about 30 different kinds of pies and cakes, and each volunteer makes two – one for tasting by all attendees, and one for the live auction. There will be music, refreshment, and fun for all. Admission is free, so eat a late lunch or an early supper and come enjoy locally prepared desserts for a good cause!

Proceeds from the cake will help fund this non-profit organization that, since its inception in 2005, has striven to maintain wildlife movement so that wildlife populations can move freely and securely through the mixture of public lands, private lands, and transportation corridors. Their goal is to increase driver safety on Highway I-90, to decrease road kill and human-wildlife conflicts, and to promote healthy wildlife populations, open spaces, beautiful views and rural feel in the community. They are funded solely by membership, donation, and grant money received.
