FeaturesSt. Mary Queen Of Heaven Catholic Church in Superior will celebrate 50 years in the current building on Nov. 23. Bishop George Thomas will join Father Kevin Christofferson and some former pastors in celebrating Mass at noon. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Mineral County Commissioners are seeking letters of interest for one position on the Mineral County Weed Board representing the east end of Mineral County. Interested parties must be residents of Mineral County and interested in weed control throughout Mineral County. Please remit your letter of interest to: Mineral County Weed District, Attn. Weed Board Appointments, PO Box 730, Superior, MT 59872 by December 3. Appointees will be installed at the regular meeting of the Mineral County Weed Board on January 7, 2009.

Superior Mountain Lodge #110 meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month beginning at 7 p.m. The next meeting is set for Nov. 18.

The Mineral County Conservation District usually meets at 6 p.m. every third Tuesday at the Extension Office, but this month will meet Nov. 25. All meetings are open to the public and an agenda will be posted at the MSU-Mineral County Extension Office, 301 Second Ave E., Superior, MT 59872.

The Mineral County Friends of the Library welcomes new members to help support the county library system. Formed in 2001, our raffles, bake sales, coffee rest stops, and chili “read and feeds” have raised hundreds of dollars to support the library’s limited budget. The Superior/St. Regis United Methodist Church annual Christmas craft bazaar and lunch will be Saturday, Nov. 22. The bazaar will be held in the basement of the Superior church on 1st Street from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be craft items, stocking stuffers, candy, baked goods, Christmas decorations, ornaments and much more. Join us for a fun time. A soup lunch will be available beginning at 11:00 am. Lunch is soup, bread and a dessert. Choose from three delicious soups. There will be a raffle featuring several items: Two $100.00 meat packages, Gift certificates, a Bath Spa Package, handmade advent calendar, holiday centerpiece, fleece blanket, and maybe more. Raffle tickets are available from any church member $1 each 6 for $5 or 12 for $10.

Alberton Community Church hosts its Fifth Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner Sunday Nov. 23 at Alberton Community Church from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Come join the fun! Bring the whole family! Eat a great meal for free and enjoy great fellowship!

The Bitterroot Resource Conservation and Development group meets every first Monday from 10 a.m. to noon in the County Commissioner's Office in Superior. The next meeting is set for Dec. 1.

The Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup meets the first Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m., at the Ninemile Ranger Station's Visitor Center. Residents of Ninemile, Sixmile, Huson and Petty Creek are especially welcome to join us in our efforts to maintain the historic and regionally important Ninemile Wildlife Corridor which overlays these areas.
