There will be no July monthly meeting of the Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup. We usually meet the first Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m., at the Ninemile Ranger Station’s Visitor Center. The Bitterroot Resource Conservation and Development group meets every first Monday from 10 a.m. to noon in the County Commissioner’s Office in Superior. The next meeting will be July 7.

The St. Regis Community Council (SRCC) announces elections of President and Secretary at the Community Center on July 8. Anyone living within the St. Regis School District is eligible to run and vote for elected office and to participate in SRCC projects. Terms are for 3 years, and nominations can be submitted any day in writing at the Visitor Information Center from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. prior to the election. Nominations can also be made from the floor the evening of the election. Currently, John Cheesman is President, Vicky Carrott is VP, Glenn Koepke is Secretary, Eileen Wolff is Treasurer, and Curtis Cochran has been appointed to fill the remaining term for the At-Large board member. The community wants to thank Rosalie Dimpel for all her years serving on the board and assisting with programs and projects.

Over 40-ish lovers of the outdoors—here’s a call to join in a quest for fun! A new 40- and-older hiking group is forming. Kelly Garcia, a Montana native and life-long lover of these Western Montana lands, will be planning skill- and fitness- level adjusted walks for all members. No charge. “The good,” Garcia says, “is to have fun and get in better shape, not to see who gets to the finish line first.” An organizational meeting of the Mineral County Silverback Hiking Club will be held Thursday, July 10, 6 p.m., at the Mineral County Public Library in Superior. Missoula County Democrats Summer Picnic Tuesday, July 15, 6 p.m., Bonner Park Bandshell, corner of Ronald Ave. & Beverly Ave. Free!
