Donations of cash or prizes are sought for the first annual summer solstice Poker Ride on June 21 to benefit Mineral County Search and Rescue (in memory of Jack Ermels). Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the Four Aces Bar, Superior, $5 per hand. We gladly accept and appreciate all donations, which are 100 percent tax deductible. The adult education course “Basic Computer Literacy” will be taught in Frenchtown Tuesday nights from 6-8 p.m. starting June 17. Topics include: hardware, installation and setup, printing, email accounts, Internet searches, using the World Wide Web, attachments, word processing and spreadsheets. The two-hour class costs $10. Join folks from the Great Burn Study Group for weekend trips into the Great Burn this summer, monitoring weeds, wildlife, trail conditions, signs, and more, collecting important information for management of this rugged backcountry area. The Mineral County Friends of the Library welcomes new members to help support the county library system. The ABC-TV reality show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is looking for Montana hometown heroes whose single-family home deserves a makeover that will make a huge difference in their lives. Include the names and ages of each member of the household along with a description of the major challenges within the home, and explain why this family is deserving, heroic, or a positive role model in their community. The Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup meets the first Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m., at the Ninemile Ranger Station's Visitor Center. Residents of Ninemile, Sixmile, Huson and Petty Creek are especially welcome to join us in our efforts to maintain the historic and regionally important Ninemile Wildlife Corridor which overlays these areas.
