Area residents are asked to donate their old games and movies (VHS or DVD) to area nursing homes. Josh Alexander of Frenchtown is helping to organize a drive to vary the viewing fare for our local nursing home residents. For more information or to help, contact Josh at 626-4140.

Donate your old cell phones so that soldiers in Iran and Afghanistan can phone their loved ones. Superior VFW Post 6238 is a proud sponsor of the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. Donated cell phones can be in any condition. Please leave the battery attached. Bring your old cell phone to either of two locations in Superior: Cessna’s Hardware, 106 Mullan Rd. AA Meeting in Alberton every Tuesday at the Alberton Methodist Church. Start at 7 p.m. and open to the public.

The Mineral Community Hospital Board meets the 4th Thursday of each month. For more information, phone: 822-4841. The next meeting is scheduled to be held Jan. 24.

The Superior Senior Center hosts Bingo every first Saturday at 1 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled to be held Feb. 2, 2008.

The Bitterroot Resource Conservation and Development group meets every first Monday from 10 a.m. to noon in the County Commissioner’s Office in Superior. The next meeting is scheduled to be held Feb. 4.

The Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup meets the first Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m., at the Ninemile Ranger Station's Visitor Center. Residents of Ninemile, Sixmile, Huson and Petty Creek are especially welcome to join us in our efforts to maintain the historic and regionally important Ninemile Wildlife Corridor which overlays these areas. Jack Nisbet, noted author and Montana historian, will speak Feb. 5, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the St. Regis School library on "When the Ice Dam Burst: Following the Floodwaters of Glacial Lake Missoula, 1810-1860." The meeting is sponsored by the Mineral County Library and St. Regis School District Community Library and Adult Education Program.

Alberton American Legion Post 131 meets at 7:30 p.m. every first Thursday of the month at the Alberton Senior Center.
